Physical Description: Somewhat torn between the worlds, Silentheart’s physical characteristics seem to take more after her Elvish mother, her frame and features very slender and pale with exceptionally dark eyes. Like many elves, Silentheart's skin is nearly porcelain in color, and her waist-length hair equally pale, shining in hues of very faint silver and white. Most times she leaves it down, and enjoys weaving leather strands, jewels, and leaves into her hair on nice occasions, but for the most part wears a simple leather headdress that wraps around her head and across the crown of it like a snood. Regardless of how she wears her hair, Silentheart almost always has a thin, single braid over her right ear. While still pointed, Silentheart’s ears are shorter and more rounded than those of pure Elves, and her coal-black eyes are a rather unusual color for either race.
Though she admires their beauty, Silentheart very infrequently wears jewels or trinkets, finding them too easily lost, stolen, or in the way of her work. Of all jewelry she likes earrings and ear cuffs the most, liking their small sparkle that doesn't draw too much attention to her or her Elvish features. She's not ashamed of who or what she is and makes no effort to hide her mixed lineage, nor does Silentheart try to declare them outright. She is who she is and she can't help that, and so accepts it, whether the world does or not. Like many forest-dwelling Elves, her taste in clothes is very simple and practical, suited to her lifestyle of traveling. Silentheart has few possessions and carries little with her, and much of her clothing consists of suede leggings, knee-high boots, and long tunics in various shades of green and brown. Doubling as her blanket, Silentheart also keeps a long fur-lined cloak made of bear skin.
Across her waist and hips are two belts, one holding a convenient carrying bag for money, herbs, and small goods, and the larger one across her hips for her long, thin sword. Silentheart tries to never use it, but the world is a dangerous place. Her bow and quiver of arrows are also never typically far from her person either.
Special Physical Traits: Casual as she tries to be about them, Silentheart’s smaller, rounder yet pointed ears are rather noticeable as the tell-tale sign of her mixed blood.
PERSONAL INFO
Personality: Caution clashes with curiosity as Silentheart’s nature struggles against itself and the way she was raised. In her short life she’s seen her fair share of sorrow, and yet that seems to only fuel the half-elf’s optimism that the beauty of life lies in its brevity. Despite the racial animosity that exists from both races (as happens with many children of mixed blood), Silentheart smiles in spite of it, believing firmly that the good she tries to propel herself to do can serve to better the world around her and help bridge the gaps, even if only slightly.
Silentheart is quiet and thoughtful, and tries to be as kind as possible, feeling that no act of kindness or love is ever wasted, even if it goes unnoticed or unthanked; even those who would see her as an enemy she would willingly help because it is the kind thing to do. Not always the wise thing, but the kind thing. That said, she doesn’t always think her actions through, showing that even though by human standards she is a grown woman, by Elvish standards the healer still has a lot to learn about the world and the people in it. Among the Elves and Fae, Silentheart rarely speaks aloud, preferring to Send instead.
While being very loving and nurturing and genuinely loving having company, Silentheart spends a lot of her time alone with only the giant wolf who carries her as she travels. Her curiosity and desire to learn make her restless, but that restlessness takes away from chances at a home life. Silentheart tries to laugh it off, knowing that because she’s neither one or the other she will probably never find a mate of her own, and is even a little afraid to let herself love after watching the agony of loss that killed her mother. In the rare times she does have travel companions or stays in a village briefly, she does all she can to care for those in her company and make them smile, even if it means saying nothing at all and only playing on her pipes for them.
Unfortunately due to her vows as a healer, Silentheart is very slow to defend herself, even though she is armed. If necessary she will draw her sword, but at every turn will try to reason with her opponent to deter them from attacking her. Even against the likes of Lycans and Trolls, she would rather incapacitate than directly harm, relying on a weak protection spell and her ability to hide in plain sight to defend her from many dangers.
Quirks: Her human curiosity tends to get the better of her more often than it should, leading Silentheart to want a closer look when sometimes it would be smarter to run.
Has Trouble With: Saying no to anyone who asks her for help because she doesn’t always think directly about the consequences. Silentheart also lacks skill in deeper healing of side effects from great illnesses or injuries. For example, if your eye were gouged in a fight, Silentheart could heal the wound and infection, but not the blindness in that eye; if you had a lasting high fever she could heal the fever and help you regain your strength, but couldn’t heal the possible deafness resulting from the fever.
Loves: Mulled wine, starry winter nights, storytelling and hearing new stories to tell, playing her pipes, having company, the wolfsong, learning about new herbal cures, finding new texts to study and practice, bread
Hates: Feeling helpless against injustices, incredibly spicy food, the remains of wasted hunts (finding the skinned carcasses of whole animals killed for fur with the meat left behind), Human ales (too strong), not understanding the joke, her heritage point pointed out to her, reading older texts in Common (words being spelled inconsistently), her own inabilities to understand so many things due to living a sheltered life, ever having to say no to people in need
Deep Dark Secret: None

HISTORY:
In the world, Humans and Elves have had a long, bloody, and violent history, and children born from the two races are often not intended or are deeply regretted. Against all odds and bitterness, in a small hut near L’Heimn, a human and an elf had joined and willingly had a child. Named Eärwen, the child was kept away from town and safe, many of the people whom she knew earliest in life were close friends of her parents. She didn’t understand that she was any different from other humans or elves, and for the earliest years of her life knew only love.
Ilya, Eärwen’s mother, was mute by a mage’s curse, and though she couldn’t send to her human mate, she could always convey what she felt, wanted, or needed. Because of how little speaking was actually done in their home, it was many years before Eärwen learned to speak or feel comfortable speaking. It greatly confused their human kin, but her father was very intuitive and always seemed to know what his silent wife and equally quiet child wanted to say. Eärwen was very young when she first showed an innate talent for healing that she was completely unaware of as she brushed her fingers over a mending cut on her father’s hand and silently wished it to simply “go away.” She thought nothing of it as the flesh obeyed, not understanding in the slightest what she’d done or how, the child only kissing her father’s cheek and running off to play.
Ilya began her daughter’s training immediately, seeking to help her expand and refine her talents as a healer, knowing the world was dark, dangerous, and would always be in need of someone who could heal. The child was growing at a human rate; too fast to get enough time to really learn all there was. Eärwen was hardly more than 11 the day their friends came to the hut, telling the elf that her human husband was dead, mauled by a dire wolf who wanted the deer he’d shot. With no reason to stay in L’Heimn, the two left for their kin inside the TalGoll Woods as Ilya flew into a deep despair. Eärwen watched helplessly as her mother suffered a hurt that couldn’t be healed that eventually consumed her, leaving the child alone to be raised by the Elves out of pity. Already quiet she ceased speaking entirely and only Sent when she had to. Her voice and heart were silent, and so her lingering nickname was born.
Silentheart spent the remainder of her teens and twenties within the TalGoll Woods, quiet and mostly alone when not studying under her elders. Elvish children aged and matured so slowly that those the same physical age were far too young and those of a similar mental age far too old. She was welcome and safe within the forest away from Humans, but lived knowing she would never be any closer to being either. It wasn’t until Silentheart’s early 30’s that she decided to leave the home she’d known for the world unknown. She had found a young dire wolf trapped under a tree, ill, injured, and unable to get to food or water. Even though it was the same kind of wolf that had attacked her father, Silentheart slowly cared for the beast, healed it, and slowly gained its trust. It wouldn’t leave her side, but constantly made it clear that it wanted out of that forest but wouldn’t leave without her. With what skills she had learned and her elders’ blessings, Silentheart left TalGoll to wander as a healer and learn and make her place in the world she wanted to be a part of.
